ON SOME METHOD FOR THE CALCULATION OF FIRST NATURAL FREQUENCY OF STEEL COLUMNS IN FORM OF TUBES SHAPED LIKE A CONE

Abstract: Formulas for calculations of the first natural frequency (of transverse vibrations) for tube columns shaped like a cone with variable wall thickness are derived. Some approximated method for calculations of the natural period for columns and towers is employed. The general solution for some integrals involved in the obtained formulas is unknown and thus numerical calculations are necessary. The case of a tube shaped like a cone with constant wall thickness was also resolved.
