MOISTURE CONDITIONS AND CORROSION DESTRUCTION OF STEEL ELEMENTS OF TROUGHS IN THE EXPERIMENTAL FARM OF SWINE

Keywords: electrochemical corrosion, steel, troughs, inventory buildings
Abstract: Abstrakt: In buildings for animals’ industrial fattening, where the relative moisture of air amount to 80–90%, and the atmosphere contains considerable quantities of NH3, CO2 and H2S, there exist the favourable conditions for quick corrosion of steel units. The conducted research in the experimental farm of swine applied to forming of the relative moisture of air and the level of destruction of steel units of troughs, which were caused by electrochemical corrosion. It was found that there were considerable damages of steel dams almost in all playpens, together with several cases of bursting of rods in places with the largest corroding. The gigantic moisture of air caused acceleration of these corrosive processes in building, in autumn-winter period exceeding even 80%.
