EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON THE STRENGTH PARAMETERS WOVEN GEOTEXTILE USED TO CONSTRUCT OF RETAINING STRUCTURE IN LANDFILL
Keywords: polypropylene woven geotextile, tensile strength, reinforced soil, landfill
Abstract: The woven geotextiles are materials used for soil reinforcement and separation. Their selection should take into account the tensile strength necessary for the planned effect of strengthening the ground, as well as strain appropriate to the expected degree of subsidence and conditions of installation this material. The paper presents the research’s methodology and results of analyses obtained from laboratory tests of tensile strength of the two samples of polypropylene geotextiles woven used for soil reinforcement in the forming solid of remedial landfill. The aim of the research was to determinate tensile strength and deformation at temperatures from 20°C to 80°C. The results obtained allowed assessment of this parameters and allowed verification of the effectiveness of applied materials. Also compared research results to parameters derived from information provided by the manufacturer.
