Abstract: The paper presents static calculation results of a rectangular tank obtained by numerical metod in a variation approach to finite differences. Spatial character of static work and colaboration between the structure and elastic foundation was taken into account. Moreover, the possible way of rearrangement of wall displacements and bendig moments in individual parts of the tank was shown. It was presented on the base of an example when the bow-strings fastened the opposite walls and the buttresses supported the longer walls in the middle of their span.
