The influence of fine sediment in bedload on dominant discharge for mountain streams
Keywords: dominant discharge, bed-load transport, mountain stream
Abstract: The paper presents the way in which the presence of fine sediment in bedload influences the unit dominant discharge value. The investigations were carried on seven streams chosen in Polish Carpathians: the Raba River and the Kamienica Stream, the Targaniczanka Stream and Łubinka stream (from the Skawa river catchment) and the Tarnawka stream, the Paleczka stream and the Stryszawka stream (from the Dunajec catchment). For some streams the bedload transport was calculated using Meyera-Petera i Millera formulae, for the Raba River and the Targaniczanka stream the radioisotope method of measurement bedload transport was used. To calculate the dominant discharge Wolman-Miller method was chosen.
