Abstract: This article deals with characteristics of technical and social infrastructure in the commune of Wyszków in Mazowieckie Voivodship and the EU requirements in connection therewith. The research which has been done in the commune of Wyszków has shown that with respect to transport the EU directives are not carried out, the commune authorities focus on road network development, on its modernisation, they do not provide proper traffic security. With respect to education the commune of Wyszków has not introduced the UE standards concerning improvement of system of education and vocational training. In the field of public health the institutions acting in the commune do not plan in the near future to implement the EU programme which pertains to public health between 2003 and 2008.
