The topic of this paper is contemporary architecture of urban agriculture. The aim of the paper is to review
the architectural design of vertical farms in cities. The following research methods and techniques were used:
literature review, case studies, project descriptions and research by design method. The paper discusses both
out-door and in-door vertical farming facilities. Vertical farms can be part of local food systems of cities.
