TENSEGRITIES IN BRIDGE STRUCTURES

Abstract: The present paper is dedicated to state-of-the-art of engineering applications of tensegrity structures for bridges and footbridges. New projects and practical realizations can be observed recently. The main advantage of the tensegrity structures is its light weight and possibility of self-diagnosis and self-repair. Some new projects and applications in the field of smart tensegrity bridges and footbridges are expected in the nearest future.
